DIY Breakfast Nook Plans

If you have an unused corner in the kitchen, it may be a perfect place to build a breakfast nook. Use free breakfast nook plans to build a custom corner bench, complete with under-seat storage.

Building a corner bench is a simple project and is relatively inexpensive, using MDF board and two-by-fours. This makes for a sturdy seat that can be customized to fit any size area.


Use paint or stain and urethane, finishing the unit to match or complement the room decor. The hinged bottom is easily covered with cushions for a comfortable seat, and the space beneath is perfect for storage of bulky, seldom used items. Children's toys, games and sports equipment also fit well in the ample storage space the seating area provides.

This project uses simple tools and is a fun project the whole family can join in on.
